What is B.I.F.?


BIF is a Live Role-Playing club. We run fantasy weekend events set in an Earth based world - both for geography and culture. The time period is what most people would consider to be medieval, however, not all cultures are at their historical level of development during the medieval times. The mythos section explains this further. So basically we are set in a High fantasy era with earth content referenced.

Unlike many other role-playing systems, we do not have character classes. This means that your skills, and your role-playing, determine who your character is and what they becomes.

We also have several different non-human races. The assumption is that most of these races are fairly easy to identify. As a result, if players do not have costume/mask representation, they are required to have a mark/letter of coloured make-up on their face to represent their race. High disguise skill may allow the mark/letter to be hidden or changed - to represent being disguised as a different race, for game mechanics.

Be In Fantasy or BIF is a Live Role Playing Club that has operated out of Melbourne since 1999 and runs weekend events using its own customised game system set on a fantasy earth.

This earth contains all the pantheons of patrons that have existed through the ages plus a few that have never existed except in our own fertile imagination. These events combine a mix of freeform interaction, theatrical scenarios and combat resolution using prop weapons.
